China completes world’s largest Internet network

China has completed the development of a new Internet network, the largest of its kind in the world.
The CERNET 2 is a next-generation network.
Its speed is 1,000 times faster than the current generation, and provides many more IP addresses.
And it will make long-distance communication much more convenient and reliable. But ordinary web users will have to wait for the benefits.
The CERNET 2 is now the exclusive property of research institutions, and developers say it will be another four years before it is available to users at home.
